Textbook costs are on everyone's mind – faculty, students, administrators, parents, and legislators. By plugging a "mini-workshop" into your next academic division/department meeting, you will equip faculty with information they can use to take immediate steps to help reduce the cost of textbooks. And it's not the same old "get your book orders in earlier" routine. We promise. Topics covered are: - How we reached the $200 textbook: a look at the root causes
- The impact of high prices on students including data on course completion rates
- A survey of emerging solutions with a focus on open textbooks
