Gift for Life Presents Industry Achievement Award to Tom Mirabile

Gift for Life will be presenting Tom Mirabile with the Gift for Life Industry Achievement Award during Gifts and Decorative Accessories' 64th Annual Retailer Excellence Awards (REA) taking place on Sunday, August 16, 2015, in New York City. The award recognizes overall excellence and contribution to the gift and home industry.

Mirabile is Senior Vice President of Global Trend and Design for Lifetime Brands, Inc. He provides creative direction and consumer insights internationally for many well-respected retailers and brands in the home, housewares and tabletop industries. His emphasis on consumer-centric product development and design has guided the evolution of such brands as Mikasa, Pfaltzgraff, KitchenAid, Farberware, Towle and Wallace. He also serves as Consumer Trend Forecaster for the International Housewares Association and a Contributing Editor for Pantone.

Previously, he served in senior merchant and product development positions with companies including Neiman Marcus Group, Macy’s and Bloomingdales. He has designed home collections for iconic brands including Vera Wang, Calvin Klein and Kenneth Cole.

“I’m so honored to accept this award, but a lot of the credit belongs to future-focused organizations like Lifetime Brands, who have always been incredibly supportive of my passion for knowledge sharing and change in the home industry,” says Mirable. “I’ve also been exceedingly fortunate to partner with retailers who have been so generous in allowing me to share in their vision and help them bring it to life. I humbly thank Gift for Life and Gifts and Decorative Accessories magazine for this remarkable honor.”

“Tom is a visionary designer and trend expert who has added style, comfort and functionality to homes around the globe,” said Frank Joens, chair of the Gift for Life board. “We are proud to present Gift for Life's 2015 Industry Achievement Award to such a thought-leader in our industry.”

Gift For Life/National Stationery Show® Team Raises $27,700+ for AIDS Walk New York

The Gift For Life/National Stationery Show team raised more than $27,700 for men, women, and families who are living with HIV/AIDS. The team is just shy of its new $30,000 target, and donations will be accepted through June 12 at ny.aidswalk.net/GFLNSS2015.

This year marked the fourth consecutive cooperation of Gift for Life and the National Stationery for participation in the AIDS Walk NY, which took place in New York City on the opening day of the National Stationery Show. One small, but mighty team, walked the 10K route through Central Park and the other conducted a virtual walk through the Javits Center aisles in support of Gay Mens’ Health Crisis (GMHC), beneficiary of AIDS Walk NY. Currently, the team is ranked 14th overall in team fundraising, and the 2015 AIDS Walk NY — which was the 30th annual event — has raised a collective $4.1 million for the cause.
