AIDS Walk NY & Fundraising for COVID-related hunger relief

The pandemic may have slowed us down, but it hasn’t stopped us… COVID caused all of us to pivot professionally and personally, and Gift for Life is no exception. In keeping with current needs, our fundraising efforts will support COVID-related food relief for the balance of 2021.
Our beneficiary will be World Central Kitchen (WCK), a nationwide emergency food relief program and its Restaurants for the People program, which buys meals directly from restaurants and delivers them to Americans who need help – in 400 cities across 35 states. To date, the program has worked with 2,500 restaurants to serve over 12 million restaurant meals and has disbursed more than $135 million dollars directly to restaurants owners.

| Home Textiles Market Week Text-to-Donate Campaign |
|
|
| Through a first-time partnership with Home Textiles Today, participants in March’s Home Textiles Market Week donated $2,761 for COVID-related food relief. This was the inaugural fundraising campaign for Gift for Life’s 2021 beneficiary, World Central Kitchen (WCK), a nationwide emergency food relief program. Donations will be accepted through September. |

| 41 Madison’s April #TableTogether auction raised $7,450 for God’s Love We Deliver, an organization that cooks and home-delivers medically tailored meals to New Yorkers living with serious illness. Three themed tablescapes overflowing with products donated by NY Tabletop Market suppliers were auctioned. As an added benefit, Adam Glassman hosted a special live Q&A with Patti Carpenter, trend forecaster extraordinaire. |

| Since 2011, Gift for Life’s AIDS Walk NY team has raised $225,000 for GMHC, a not-for-profit, volunteer-supported, and community-based organization which provides prevention and care services to individuals living with, or affected by, HIV/AIDS in New York City! In 2021, in partnership with NY NOW and DIFFA (Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS) the team steps out for the 10th time (virtually) with a goal of $27,000.
